GRAVITY TOUR TBA

VanderAa: Modern Sound. Ancient Roots.

Brothers Aaron and Levi VanderAa are the architects of a high-vibe blend of Rock, Soul, and Pop. While their music is built on a foundation of real instruments, it is defined by a forward-thinking, modern production that is as impactful as it is soulful.

At the core of the VanderAa sound is a deep, tribal rhythm. Known by their Dutch moniker (Of the River), the duo creates a seamless flow of drums, beatbox, and harmonized vocals, leaning into a heavy percussive energy that feels ancient yet sounds entirely modern. It is a rhythmic precision that bridges the gap between traditional musicianship and a high-definition, bass-driven aesthetic.

From Global Stages to Grounded Action

Growing up in Darwin provided a rich foundation for their careers, taking them from busking the Northern Territory to performing on global stages like Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, and Burning Man.

  • The Yidaki Legacy: After Aaron was gifted a Yidaki (didgeridoo) by a Darwin Elder, a profound connection to First Nations culture became the heartbeat of their ethos. This led them to help facilitate Red Lightning—a historic drum prayer uniting over one million listeners globally.

  • The Pivot: When the 2019 pandemic paused their global "Vanlife" travels, the brothers didn't just wait—they innovated. Basing themselves on the Sunshine Coast, they transformed "forced stillness" into a movement.

The Secret Oasis Experience

This evolution culminated in the Secret Oasis Experience: an intimate, 200-person gathering designed for deep connection.

  • Regenerative Impact: A zero-waste, carbon-neutral multi-day journey that has already seen 3,000+ native trees planted in the Sunshine Coast environment.

  • The Boutique Vibe: A drug and alcohol-free sanctuary where high-vibe music, poetry, and dance meet land-based restoration.

Beyond the Stage

Whether producing their debut album, Gravity, or leading the Circadian Rhythms drum circles, the brothers remain dedicated to "doing good." They’ve partnered with organizations like Sea Shepherd, Landcare, and Greenpeace to ensure their art serves a purpose beyond the speakers.

"VanderAa begins with the music and ends with the music. What lies in the space between is a story we love to share." — Aaron VanderAa
